Laura Hatfield: Cayman Islands Economic Substance Legislation - 2 October 2019

Laura Hatfield is a partner of and the head of the Litigation and Insolvency & Restructuring groups at Bedell Cristin. She has 30 years experience of insolvency and commercial litigation and related fields. Thus she brings a different perspective to the Economic Substance requirements in the Islands. She obtained a B.Sc at Exeter university before admission as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1989. She joined Glovers in London before being admitted as an attorney in the Cayman Islands and joining what was then Solomon Harris in 2001 as head of  its Insolvency Restructuring and Dispute Resolution groups. In 2007 she became a partner. She is also chairperson of the  Cayman International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) that is devoted to connection, promotion and success of women in the insolvency and restructuring professions worldwide.
